Performances of Wicomb’s two audio/visual pieces (Trees A & B) by duo X[iksa] and the screening of the short film directed by Bouwer (soundtrack, Wicomb)  This Country is Lonely at the 6th Purpur Festival, Cape Town.

After eight years of collaboration [on and off] with Potage du Jour/InterZones  a premiere date  has finally been scheduled for the ‘opera’ for 2021, South Africa.  Rehearsals are currently happening in Bern, with further rehearsals planned for next year.

Performance of Wicomb’s piece Now for Triads for projected playing robot toy piano, live piano and MIDI soundtrack at the College of Music, University of Cape Town.

Wicomb’s  piece Solecism for horn and soundtrack will be performed by the Swedish musician Soren Hermansson, at the 5th Purpur festival happening on the 29th of March, at Youngblood gallery, Cape Town.

The premiere of Wicomb’s piece Sue-hm Kwee , composed for the Stockholm Saxophone Quartet, will be performed 16 March 2019 in Stockholm as part of the Festival for Swedish Art Music.

The short film ‘This Country is Lonely’  will feature at this film festival in Iceland from 10 – 14 February. Wicomb was responsible for the electronic soundtrack.

The experimental short film This Country is Lonely, directed by Jaco Bouwer, will be playing at the IFFR (23 Jan. – 3 Feb. 2019). Wicomb was responsible for the electronic soundtrack and sound design.

The experimental short film This Country is Lonely,  will premiere at the Shnit festival on the 23rd of October at Labia Theatres in Cape Town. Wicomb was responsible for the synthy electronic soundtrack.
